FAQs

The Kankakee River Valley Regatta will take place Labor Day Weekend (August 30 -September 1, 2024). The race schedule is tentatively set for the following:

  • Friday, August 30 – Testing (12:00-5:00 pm)
  • Saturday, August 31 – Testing (12:00-5:00 pm)
    Opening Ceremonies (1:00 pm)
    Racing (1:00-5:00 pm)
  • Sunday, September 1 – Championship Racing (12:00-5:00 pm)

  • World Championships: F200, SST45
  • Saturday, August 31, CSH OPC TRI-HULL VP75
  • Sunday, September 1, CSH
    DSH OPC TRI-HULL VP 75

There is no admission fee to attend the races. If you require parking, you may pre-purchase your parking passes on this site in the link above. Please see below for pass fees:

  • 3-day parking pass (pre-purchased) – $35 per car
  • 2-day parking pass (pre-purchased) – $30 per car
  • 1-day parking pass (pre-purchased) – $20 per car

Passes may be purchased the day of each race at the park for $35 per day.

Cash or credit card will be accepted at the gates for day of parking passes. Parking will be free each day after 5:00 pm. There will be no re-entries. Refunds are not available on parking passes.

Spectator parking will be available on the Southside of the river off of River Road. Please look for signage for designated lots. No parking allowed in non-designated areas. Handicap parking will be available River Road (Lot A) & KCC (Lot B) Gates will open for parking at the following times:
  • Friday, August 30 – River Road Parking Lot A at 10:00 am
  • Saturday, August 31 – River Road Parking Lot A at 8:00 am
  • Sunday, September 1 – River Road Parking Lot A at 8:00 am
Kankakee Community College Parking Lot B will open once River Road Parking Lot A is full. A shuttle bus from the KCC Parking Lot B to the River Road grounds will run on a continual loop during event times. Overflow parking will be available at Splash Valley Aquatic Park.

Please note: Cobb Blvd. between Osborn and Justine will be closed to traffic.

Yes! All ages are welcomed to attend the races. There is a little bit of something for everyone on race weekend.

The Regatta will be held at the River Road Sports Complex, located at 1895 River Road in Kankakee, Illinois. Viewing will be permitted on the south bank of the Kankakee River. The north bank of the river will be for pit crew and race teams.

A shuttle bus will run between Parking Lot A and B during the following hours:

  • Friday, August 30
    5:00-10:30 pm
  • Saturday, August 31
    12:00-10:30 pm
  • Sunday, September 1
    12:00-6:00 pm

Grills, coolers and tailgating will not be allowed. No outside alcohol will be permitted inside the festival grounds. Food trucks and a beer tent will be available each day on the Southside of the river.

Pets will not be allowed in the park. Service animals are permitted and must stay with its owner and be restrained at all times.

Restrooms/Port-O-Lets will be located near the River Run Dog Park.

Yes. The river will be closed during the race times.

  • There will be no on site ATM’s.
  • No swimming in the river or entering the river banks.
  • No loitering and fighting
  • Drug paraphernalia, marijuana and/or controlled substances are strictly prohibited.
  • Underage drinking is not permitted.
  • Drones and remote control aircrafts are strictly prohibited.
  • Additional items not permitted include:
    • Signs
    • Fireworks, explosives or roadflares
    • Bullhorns or any kind of personal amplification devices
    • Glass bottles or containers
    • Pepper spray or mace
    • Weapons, knives, guns or sharp objects.
  • Feel free to bring a chairs and/or blankets. Umbrellas, tents and pop-up tents are not permitted. Staking to the ground or trees is not allowed. Please do not disturb any shrubs, trees or flowers at the park.
  • Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times.
  • Please respect the park! Use garbage cans and clean up after yourself.
